That is my boy, Antone, above. Named in honor his great grandpa this boy has been to so many of my shows he now walks around the house with his own “Big Ryan” backpack and does shows where he re-tells my stories. It’s pretty fantastic to watch! Well, he came again this past Monday night to my show at the amazing Holmes Library.

We had a great group of story lovers who listened intently to George and the Flying Bicycle and then did a rousing rendition of Father Abraham!

Of course, Edgar and Uncle Charlie came out to tell their story and then I showed the kiddos the way to juggle. We ended by singing one of my favorite summer time songs “The Popsicle Song” where I had someone suggest a “Big Ryan” popsicle. I have to tell you, I have been telling stories for 22 years and have been doing that song for maybe 15 of those years – and I don’t think I ever had anyone suggest a Big Ryan popsicle before!

A great and rowdy group came out for the Lakeville Library show this past week and I was so excited to tell my tales to such an awesome crowd! I must thank the Teresa for suggesting and allowing me to use her sound system since the crowd was quite large and we were next to the busy street! Thank goodness for large tree in the field so that we could all have some shade from the bright sun that day. Thanks again to all who came out!

Somehow, no matter where I am, I keep making new four-legged friends! As I was getting my oil changed the pup above jumped on my lap and kept me company. Then, one night, as I was working, the little guy below jumped on my window to come say hi.

Fun fact: Big Ryan wears a different pin every day – and today he’s honoring the Summer Solstice with a popsicle pin!
