August 2024

I spent my childhood summers at Brantwood Camp. First as a camper and then, for many years after, as a counsellor. Well, my children have followed in my footsteps and have gone to Brantwood now with Antone finally reaching the age where he can go. He has been talking about getting to go for years – just like his sister – and took to Brantwood life like a fish to water!

Antone, in the picture above, is sporting his Brantwood hat – which he earned for finishing all of his challenges, he has his B-Jersey on – which one shack wins for earning the most points during the term, and he won a stayover – one of the highest honors a camper can get -which allows him to return to camp for free!

Even after all of that, we were informed this past week that Antone also won the Cook-Hall-Peirce Cup, the award for the best new camper of the summer. This is such an honor and we are so proud of this kid!

My last visit to Book Love, a young man came up to me to show me the puppet he made of himself. He told me that after seeing my show he was inspired to make his own puppet and do shows of his very own! The best part for me is the doughnut in his mouth!

Sign up today and make sure to be ready to have a blast as we discuss the importance of reading at home and great tips and tricks to make story time so much more exciting!

It’s funny, but I always seem to begin missing summer even before the summer ends. As August comes to a close I begin already wanting more time to enjoy lobster rolls and beach walks. This is the last week of summer before schools begins so I hope everyone really enjoys themselves!

Come to Book Love in Plymouth at 10:00am on Saturday for another round of fun stories! It’s supposed to be a little rainy this weekend so it’s a perfect time way to spend the morning!

That is a Double-Breasted Cormorant perched on the Mayflower II. It was too cool not to show off!

Wednesday is the Bridgewater Library Toddler Show. Show begins at 10:30am come hear the toddler tales – so make sure to be there early and let’s have a blast!

Sponsored by the Mass Cultural Council.

This amazing group visited East Bridgewater to help solve the case of The Unfortunate Passing of Pliant McTwist. The kids that came to play was one of the more excited groups this summer!

Everyone was racing to be the first to solve the case s they could be promoted to lead detective!

Ultimately, these ladies solved first and were the winners! The rest of the impressive groups finished right after with everyone able to solve the case, telling me who, what, where, and why!

Congratulations to all the detectives!
