April 2016

this week

After this past week, after seeing a new part of MA that I had yet to see, I am ready for a lighter week! It will still be quite busy as I am heading to the Little People’s College on Church St on both Monday and Tuesday – then I am heading to Rowley for a show on Wednesday morning at the library. I welcome the new Kindergarten class to the Carver Elementary School system on Thursday night. I was fortunate enough to be able to have my daughter tag along with me to Sharon Library. During lunch she said she wanted a cell phone… and a nose ring. She’s 6. Makes me laugh and want to cry at the same time! Hope everyone had a great vacation and is ready to tackle the last term of school this AM.

This week is going swimmingly and I am super excited for today’s shows. I also was recently talking with a friend and was discussing our daughters. His just turned 13 and he said it was like it happened in a blink. “Just like that” he said “and she’s 13. She’s a little woman.” We talked about freezing time to keep them little and after a second he says “You know what though? It’s all been good. Even the rough times – they were still good.”

This cartoon was done when my daughter was still too little to know how to put on make-up – but it was like a self fulfilling prophecy because she loves to dress up and get all gussied up now. She says it’s because she looks so pretty. I tell her she’s pretty without any make-up at all.

I am happy to report that I made it through another wonderful Bridgewater week – and I will be back next year! I have to say, the biggest compliments I received were from the 3rd graders who all asked if I would be telling stories to them the following year in 4th grade. Sadly, I had to tell them, I have yet to visit the middle school to tell my tales – but I said I’d be open to it. It just makes me feel good to know that even the older kids enjoy my stories too.

I love this show… and apparently so does Amy

this week

There is one week I look forward to the most because I get to return to a school I have visited for over 12 years. I visit the children of the George Mitchell Elementary School for an entire week! It’s even more exciting for me because, for just one week, I feel like I’m part of a community of the most friendly and welcoming teachers. They smile and get as excited as the children they teach that I am back and nothing makes me feel better then an entire school happy to have me return! So get ready Mitchell – I will be there first thing in the morning!
