Alexandra News

This beauty has won the Academic Achievement Award in Science for the SECOND year in a row! This little girl impresses me more and more every day! As an added bonus of amazing she also won Academic Achievement Award in English as well.

I am so proud of all the hard work she puts into her school work and I am happy that all that hard work is recognized by the school! Thank you for being the best daughter ever – I am so proud of her!

I am so happy to show off the teams that arrived to help solve the case of The Unfortunate Passing of Pliant McTwist: A Murder Mystery! Even my daughter, Alexandra was on hand to help the detectives!

These skilled detectives went to work beating each of the suspects at their own games! They were constantly impressive and wonderfully enthusiastic in sifting through the evidence!

In the end, this Father/Daughter Trio finished first and earned their badges!

But no one leaves empty handed! Each player earned their badges as well, and took a victory photo!

This Saturday, Book Love is celebrating both their Grand Opening AND their birthday! While they have been in business for a while now, they are finally moving into their permanent space!

Come and check it out! As you can see, not only will I be there to tell stories but the whole family are big fans of this amazing Book Store!

I will never be able to express just how much I love these 3 people! The kids are growing so fast but I am more impressed with how much my kids are open to trying new experiences and living life! My daughter has joined drama and my son continues to enjoy playing football and basketball.

I can’t wait to see the future for these two and enjoy everyday beside this woman raising our kids together!

Happy Independence Day! This week will be a blast! A quieter week for shows, but I am still making some rounds at the Plymouth Farmer’s Market and at the Brooks Free Library! Make sure to come and enjoy some stories – escape the heat and enjoy the giggles from the stories.

My little girl turns 12 today. This very sweet and happy little girl continues to make me and her momma so proud. She keeps growing up and just becoming more and more beautiful.

She heads off to camp this summer where she will be sleeping over for 2 weeks. I can’t even describe just how scary it seems to me to leave this now grown up girlie overnight. I wish she still needed me to tuck her in and kiss her goodnight but she’s so independent now! I love you Alexandra, my Booty-Boo!

Something I have noticed over the years is that the graphic novel format has become more and more popular. This was something unheard of when I went to school and, truthfully, I could not be happier to see that this trend is becoming the preferred way to read stories. The days when I went to school graphic novels were almost looked down upon as not real reading. Thanks to some revolutionary writers they have made stories like these popular – and I know one little girl who is extremely happy about it!

My visit to Nahant this past February vacation was a huge success and I had a blast to boot!  I even had my mini-me helper with me to snap a few photos – thank you Alexandra!  If you’d like to see more go to the Big Ryan’s Tall Tales Facebook page and check them all out!  While you’re there go ahead and “Like” the page!

Just looking back to Alexandra’s past Halloween costumes!  It’s always fun to take a look back!  It’s also mind boggling to see your baby girl turn into the little lady that she is today!  Happy Halloween everyone!  Stay safe and keep warm!

Hi everyone!  Swing by the Holmes Public Library this month to check out part of my Hulk collection being displayed!  It’s very Pop-centric! Thanks to Alexandra for being my Vanna White!  I know she looks a bit like a rag-a-muffin here but we spent the morning outside playing!  If you do decide to drop by the Halifax Library make sure to stop by on the evening of July 16th when I will be telling my tales there!
