This week…

this week

There is one week I look forward to the most because I get to return to a school I have visited for over 12 years. I visit the children of the George Mitchell Elementary School for an entire week! It’s even more exciting for me because, for just one week, I feel like I’m part of a community of the most friendly and welcoming teachers. They smile and get as excited as the children they teach that I am back and nothing makes me feel better then an entire school happy to have me return! So get ready Mitchell – I will be there first thing in the morning!

Wow! What a week! February vacation was packed with fantastic shows in towns all over the map! Concord Library, a first for me, had a large crowd and Nahant Library, an annual visit, had the biggest crowd I ever had there! Hingham Library and Acushnet Library both had large groups – all of which made me very happy to see people coming out to hear some tales!

Raising a Reader has been going swimmingly at the Holmes Library – but we do have space if anyone wants to join. Also, we are starting up in Plympton at 1:30 – so if you’d like to join in come and try it out! It’s loads of fun!

It certainly seems like we’re making up for lost time in the snow department! Of course, I can’t complain too much as my daughter and I were able to spend Friday snuggled together watching Ghostbusters and Back to the Future parts 1 & 2! As nice as that was, though, it felt even better to get back with my Building Stories group at the Plymouth Library! This coming week we are having our final Building Stories and PAC TV will be there to cover the event!

We rescheduled the Raising a Reader at the Holmes Library this past Friday due to the snow. We will be reconvening this Friday at 1:00. Again, sorry for the inconvenience but this is New England so we’re used to this sort of thing!

I keep hearing this is the first week that the snow may force some rescheduling of my schedule. While that is always frustrating if you look outside it takes some of the edge off. It looks fantastic. My daughter was outside with me yesterday shoveling the driveway. She said “Dad, are we done? I think we’re done. My toes are about to fall off.” So, yeah – it was a bit cold! Make sure not to let that bother you enough to stop you from coming out to a show or two!

I will continue the Building Stories Workshop this Saturday at the Plymouth Library at 1:00pm. Call (508) 830-4250 to register today! There are only a couple of slots left so please register as soon as you possibly can!

Also, if you would like a show in the new year please give me a call at (508) 641-5336.
