Message from Big Ryan

the view out the kitchen window

With so much snow pouring on our beautiful neck of the woods – it seems my house is sprouting it’s very own icicle garden!  I’ve had the past few days to relax thanks to all of the snow fall – but I am ready to get back to work!  So – it’s time to stop snowing, SNOW!

the garden in the back!

I do have to say – there is nothing better than waking up early, only to find out you can go back to bed, and your bed is still warm!  LOVE IT!  But seriously, it’s enough – time to get back out there…

They are no longer there - but it looked so cool!

With the huge amount of snow predicted to fall on our lovely part of the state my show for tomorrow has already been rescheduled for another day.  That means… SNOW DAY!  I know I am not a kid anymore – but there’s something still exciting about not going to work because snow is falling on the ground!  So – I have updated the UPCOMING SHOWS page again – I am keeping on top of it this year!  Shows are being added everyday – so make sure you call if you want a certain date!

raccoon 1

I went to throw some trash into our trash barrel the other day and had quite the surprise.  A raccoon decided to taken a nap along with our garbage.  He didn’t seem to mind me taking a few pictures before I turned the entire barrel over, allowing him to toddle off into the night.  I have heard how dangerous these animals can be – so I was very careful – but luckily I had a friendly raccoon visiting me.

 WW LEX

As you can tell – we went another way with Lex’s costume – we opted for the home-made Wonder Woman costume.  My Mother made this for her and we feel very fortunate that Lex has such a talented Nana!

Speaking of talented – these pictures are courtesy of Lex’s other talented grandparent – her Granny!  Olivia’s Mother continues to stun us with her beautiful pictures of the most important and precious thing in our lives!

Hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween!  Remember to say Trick or Treat when you getup to the door – and o course Thank You when you get your treat!

BOOOOOOOOOOO!

Make sure you make time to come to the Kingston Library tonight!  If you need directions click on the little egg ghost above!  Hope to see a nice big crowd there!

 eaten feeder!

The New Feeder!

I thought I went all out when I bought a pretty expensive bird feeder.  In fact the feeder I purchased actually said it was Squirrel proof!  Well, apparently they haven’t met the squirrels in my yard – because the little buggers ate right through the plastic and made it impossible for the feeder to hold seed.  So, the other feeder above and below is the NEW and improved feeder!  This one seems to have the squirrels completely baffled – but it’s a bit harder for the larger birds to eat from the feeder – I guess I have to settle for that for now.

I keep both on the hook…

To confuse the squirrels!

BOOOOOOOOOOO!

This year has gone by so fast!  Yet, we still have more to go!  A couple more months of cooler weather is coming, as well as some of my favorite storytelling themes!  Don’t forget to book for:

Fall Themes

Scary (but not too scary) Tall Tales

and Thanksgiving!

I am also booking as far ahead as December and 2011!  Make sure you call today – I will be posting an updated schedule on the Upcoming Shows page this weekend!
