When I decided to become a storyteller one of the things I thought about was how, when I had kids, I would be able to entertain at their school for them and all their school mates. This morning I get to join the folks at the Carver Elementary School and tell stories for the Kindergarten, First and Second Grade. These shows are even more special to me because I get to join my baby girl and listen to her giggle through my show with her friends. She’s been looking forward to this all last week and excitingly asks me if know what I will tell, which puppets I am going to bring and how long I will stay. Overall, it’s one of the greatest feelings in the world.

As the last week in October hits it always reminds me just how quick the days pass now. I used to partake in watching the leaves change and take thousands of pictures of the autumn taking over the landscapes. These days I have to think ahead but I take solace in the fact that my children enjoy these days one at a time. I had the fantastic opportunity to tell stories in Mattapoisett last week by an actual bon fire and it truly felt like fall in that moment. It was a moment I haven’t felt in a while so I really let it settle in and take hold of me. It was nice – and the scent of campfire still clings on my sweatshirt – it makes me want to drive around just to look at the fall foliage again.

I am going to be at the Kingston Library this Friday telling my Scary (but not too scary) Tall Tales – so mark it on your calendar and make sure to stop by!

this week

This week has been famous for being the busiest week of the year. This year didn’t disappoint – yet again I am performing 2 or 3 shows everyday until Friday of course when I get to spend the day with my little girl in P-Town. The shows this summer has been interesting – hit or miss – with the crowds. The weather has certainly been impacting the crowds but I’ve been lucky enough to have an enthusiastic group, no matter how large or small, at every show. For example, my show in Bourne last week had only 5 children but a couple of the kids, as their grandmother told me, have been looking forward to this show all year. That’s always so nice to hear! The show the following day at the Plymouth Library had a crowd of 100 and every child was laughing so loud. I’m looking forward to another busy week – I can’t wait to see what each new show brings!

I am also running a special this year – if you have booked for the summer just call and mention this post – you will get a “back to school” Fall show for just $100. The offer is good for shows from Sept 1st – Oct 8th. Call TODAY! (508) 641-5336.

My little girl turns 7 this week. As an added bonus she’s lost her first top tooth – one of the front ones – on her birthday! Someone told her that the toothfairy leaves double her age for a tooth lost on her birthday. That person would be my mother – her Nana. Thanks for that, Nana! My shows are getting revved up this week with double shows on Thursday and Friday! This is nothing though as next week the schedule continues to get ramped up! Make sure to take time out of sun bathing and splashing in the pool to come see a show – with temperatures reaching upwards of 90 degrees it’s best to take a break and cool off with some tall tales!

There are more shows added to the calendar – so take a look and mark your calendars – hopefully I am coming to see your town soon!

Back from Disney and the trip was fantastic! I was in awe with the sheer amount of effort that Disney puts forth in giving their guests an experience they will never forget! The best part, of course, was watching my son and daughter enjoy their first trip to the Magic Kingdom. I will try to get some pictures up in the next few days.
