After the Show

good-bye mainland

I was more than thrilled when the Montessori Children’s House of Nantucket called and invited me to the island to tell some stories.  They were having their annual fundraiser and they provide a day full of crafts, music and of course – Big Ryan!

performing!

The trip over, as cold as it was, was still beautiful and wild.  I had never been in a plane so small – but it was so worth it!  It’s like a 15 minute roller-coaster :)  I am sure it has a lot to do with the weather, as it was quite blustery along with the bitter coldness!

The Giggling Crowd

I have a cousin who lives on the island who came to show me around while waiting for my shows to begin.  The best part thus far was meeting her little pup, Fiona.  But before I knew it the afternnon had arrived and it was time to tell some stories!  I could not have asked for a better crowd – a room full of happy children – all ready to play and laugh along with my Tall Tales!

Big Ryan Sign

Here are a few shots from the Norwell Library show from last week!  I had a wonderful time telling “The Little Pocket Snowman” even though there really had not been any snow up to that point this winter.

Wolf And Moose sending the winter vibes

Wolf and Moose also made an appearance and kept the kids laughing!

upcoming shows

December has certainly filled up!  I will be very happily busy – and all over the place!  Now, I am just waiting on the cooler weather!  I hope everyone is taking advantage of this Sping – Like weather we’re having in MA.  I know many people are enjoying it – but I am a cold-weather kind of person… and this is just not cutting it!  Oh well, I am sure it will soon start freezing soon enough!

October Show

I wish I had a camera last night – but I didn’t – the picture above is from an earlier October show I did –  so I will just say that I was pleasantly surprised with the excellent turnout for the Kingston show!  One of the best audiences ever!  Thanks for coming out!

cupcake festival 1

I had the unique and amazing opportunity to entertain at the Townsend Cupcake Festival sponsered by the Library.  It was absolutely fantasic – and the BEST SMELLING show I’ve ever had the pleasure of doing – make sure you click the cupcake pictures above to go to my Facebook page to check out all the cupcake entries!  While there “Like” my page!  Click below and be taken to my Twitter page – while there click to follow me!  It was blast!

Lex at the Zoo

I was lucky enough to visit and entertain at one of the greatest zoos in MA – Southwick’s Zoo in Mendon.  They were having an Earth Awareness day and I am always happy and proud to be part of their celebrations!  The fantastic crowd that came to the zoo that morning were able to see Mr Wolf and Mr Moose telling their tales.

the Rhino

Lex came too, to the zoo, and was loving see all the animals – especially my favorite – the White Rhino!  The only white Rhino in the MA – so it’s pretty special.  Thanks to all who came to the zoo on Saturday morning – and I hope you enjoyed your visit!  Visit my Facebook Page to see more pics – don’t forget to like the page while you’re there!

Plymouth Library 2011

Sure enough I had two of the biggest shows this past Friday – and then today – we’re talking about the Plymouth Library and the Bridgewater Library!  I absolutely love seeing so many giggling faces in a sea of children!  The Plymouth show had 150+ people while the Bridgewater show had a whopping 210!  Go to my FB page to sneak a few more pics from the events – and “Like” the page while you are there!

Bridgewater Show!

And then Lex and I cooled off in our pool 🙂

Juggling is something I cannot get away from – not that I want to – but now it is a staple in my show.  When I choose not to juggle the kids the audience ask for it.  If I run out of time – I feel bad and promise to juggle the next time.  I wonder if anyone has actually learned to juggle from my directions?  I like to think so…

trf1

I was asked back “by popular demand” to entertain at the Taunton River Festival this past Saturday.  My first show had a quaint group of great listeners who were more than happy to hear “Morphing Beans” and see Edgar and Uncle Charlie.

trf2

The next show had a whole lot more people – but Olivia wasn’t able to snap a pic – she was stuck on the playground with Lex, who refused to leave the slide.  Thank you to the Taunton group who asked me back – I had a blast and hopefully made everyone’s day a little better by making them laugh.

Lex and Daddy

We did make another stop that Saturday – at BC, where Olivia graduated from, to pick up Lex a BC sweat shirt – her first!  Check my FBpage to see more pics – and “like” the page while you’re there!

Mommy and Baby

I had a blast in N.H. where I was able to visit the Elementary School in Peterborough – and then the next day I had a blast at the Children of the Arts Festival.  My 9:30 show was packed to the rafters – and the 10:30 show had a nice group as well – I was psyched to be part of this great event!  Check out my Facebook page to see other photos – and make sure you “Like” the page while you’re there!
