this week

As the last week in October hits it always reminds me just how quick the days pass now. I used to partake in watching the leaves change and take thousands of pictures of the autumn taking over the landscapes. These days I have to think ahead but I take solace in the fact that my children enjoy these days one at a time. I had the fantastic opportunity to tell stories in Mattapoisett last week by an actual bon fire and it truly felt like fall in that moment. It was a moment I haven’t felt in a while so I really let it settle in and take hold of me. It was nice – and the scent of campfire still clings on my sweatshirt – it makes me want to drive around just to look at the fall foliage again.

I am going to be at the Kingston Library this Friday telling my Scary (but not too scary) Tall Tales – so mark it on your calendar and make sure to stop by!

Due to overwhelming response to the bedtime story Antone and I did this past Sunday we will be doing it again – this time with both the kiddos!  If you’d like to join in then make sure you you’ve liked the Big Ryan’s Tall Tales Facebook page and tune in at 7:00pm on Sunday.  We will be reading a story or two and saying hello to anyone joining in!  Watch while we are live and say hello!  These are in celebration of the Raising a Reader programs continuing at:

  • Plympton Library, Thursdays at 1:30pm
  • Holmes Library in Halifax at 1:00pm

Make sure to come and enjoy some personal time with Big Ryan!  The Raising a Reader series is brought to you by the South Shore Family Network.

This weekend is the fantastically fun Corn Festival at the South Shore Science Center in Norwell.  I cannot wait to enjoy the upcoming days where I see many familiar faces coming to laugh along with the tales I tell!  Everyone comes with me – Moose and Wolf and Edgar and Uncle Charlie – with even the rare appearance from Max.  My shows are at 11:30am and 1:30pm on both Saturday and Sunday.  Bring your funny bones and your appetite!  Click on the image above to get more info!

It will be beautiful and sunny and a perfect day to enjoy a Waterfront Festival!  Come to Gray’s Beach and enjoy the day!  I have shows at 11:00am and 1:00pm.  The entire day will be wonderful but I have it on good authority that my shows will be the highlight of the whole thing!
