Having Monday off I had the day with my children… and still getting used to saying “children” rather than just child.  My boy is doing fantastic (except for a stuffy nose) and everyday he is growing before our very eyes.  I am in Sagamore both Tuesday and Wednesday for my annual visit to the fantastic Rainbow Preschool!  Thursday will be a long – but fun – day as I head to Greenfield, NH for a morning show – then come right back to Mass for the start of Preschool Building Stories at the Plympton Library!  That reminds me, I must call the director tomorrow to see how the sign-up is going… if you want to join us on Thursday please call the Plympton Library to sign up as space is limited!  Friday I am off to Maynard – a place I have yet to visit – to perform at the Green Meadow School!

The pic above is of the Great Blue Heron I saw after returning from the New Bedford shows this last Saturday.  I have been trying to capture a glimpse of one since I started birding, so this was a HUGE thrill for me.  Anyways, below are listed the public events I am doing – so please check it out!  Hope to see you soon!

  • Plympton Libary – Building Stories Week 1 (Call to sign up!)

I am so excited since starting the Preschool Building Stories where I get to talk to librarians about their favorite titles – including my favorite books – the wordless picture books!  This is one of the more impressive books I have come across.  As I always tell the people who come to the workshops – wordless picture books are so fantastic and work so well with kids who have a great imagination – but they are even better for children with a more concrete way of thinking – with a harder time using their imaginations.  They also teach children that books are more about the fantastic stories inside and not just about learning to read.

That’s right – you can come to the Buttonwood Park Zoo this morning and enjoy the animals! Including the most mysterious animal of them all, in his natural habitat, Big Ryan! Show begins at 11:00 today!

I realize that I have not updated the site in a while – so sorry – with Antone being born and March being extremely busy I hardly had time to do anything other than work and play with my son and daughter.  Just know that I have A LOT of upcoming shows and I am having a blast!

The pages I have shown here are from a school I visited in early March.  The children have an opportunity to eat lunch with the presenter – which that week they had 4 – they choose their favorite presenter and fill out an application to be chosen.  The organizers then pick about a dozen children to come and eat lunch with me.

I have all the applications – there were about 50 – and I read through them all.  I picked out some of my favorites here to present to you.  Some of them I chose because I was amazed at the penmanship of some of the children – others made me laugh, especially “Isabella” who informed us that she would be willing to give up her iPad for an entire year just to eat lunch with me.  Probably the most adorable thing I have ever read.

Take a look at the Upcoming Shows page as it has now been updated.  There are quite a few new shows added and Summer is coming fast – if you are looking to schedule something – please feel free to call me at (508) 641-5336.

A&A

My son was born last Tuesday at 8:30 in the morning and he is doing just fine.  My daughter is thrilled to have a little brother and it shows here where she fell asleep while snuggling with him as she watched a movie.  Welcome my little boy… you were a long time coming!

I always appreciate getting feedback and letters expressing how much the audience members liked the show.  Here are a couple of letters I recieved from a school I visited that were my favorites:
