Here is a sneak preview of which book I will be featuring during the Dad’s Group tomorrow.  If you have registered with Playmouth Family Network – then great!  I will see you tomorrow at 10:00!  If not – you can always register for January’s event!  See you all tomorrow!

Title: Stella, Queen of the Snow
Author: Marie Louise Gay
Illustrator: Marie Louise Gay

There are a lot of books about kids in the snow – and this is one of the tops. A big sister has to answer the thousand of questions that her little brother has about snow. My favorite was “What do snowmen eat?” I’ve always thought, if they get really hungry, they can eat their carrot nose.

The NY Times has given us a great list of books that were released in 2012 – it’s always fantastic to see people giving books – and not screens or gadgets – the credit they are due!

Title: Leaves
Author: David Ezra Stein
Illustrator: David Ezra Stein

One of the greatest thrills of the lives we get to lead on this little planet is discovering the wonders this world has to offer. The feeling of realizing WHY something happens is one of the best feelings. This book is a fun way of looking at a creature discovering the wonders of fall and watching the world change around him. Check out this book today!

A somewhat bitter-sweet week for me – while I have some fantastic shows coming up for this weekend – I had my final week with the Mashpee “Building Stories” group.  The presented me with a card and sang “We are Family” while clapping and saying “thank you” for presenting these past 4 weeks.  It was such a blast!  But, like I said, looking forward to the reast of the week – I have quite a weekend for you guys!

First up, Thursday – I will be at the Barnes & Noble in Braintree at 6:30pm – this is a fundraiser for the Bridgewater Library, a great cause, so come on by and check it out!

Saturday – I will start the morning off at the Plymouth Public Library at 10:00am where Plymouth Family Network is sponsoring a Dad’s Group (for any Dad and son/daughter).  Unfortunately, that required you to sign up at the library and is now full…

BUT DO NOT FEAR!  I am also going to be crossing over to Duxbury right after to the Chandler Elementary School where they are holding an Early Childhood Fair!  I will be there at 11:30 – so if you didn’t sign up for the Dad’s Group – come on by the Chandler School for an excellent time!

I will be at the Pembroke Library at 10:30 doing my tallest of tall tales!  Come on by if you want to laugh so much it hurts!  Not “OW!  That really hurt!” but “I am so glad that hurt!”

Pumpkin Cupcakes

This is one of my favorite holidays – and I appreciate it even more now that I have a little girl to take trick-or treating!  I will post a pic or two tomorrow of her Tinkerbell costume!

Title: Halloween Faces
Author: Nancy Davis
Publisher: Scholastic Books

This fun and interactive book is perfect to showcase the classic Halloween costumes that people wear! Sometimes, when kids, who are otherwise afraid, get used to the idea of seeing masks on people in books it helps in real life too! I found it interesting that Amazon, the link I usually leave for people to purchase books, does not have it in stock – so this time I have left you a link to the Scholastic store. This board book really works well with young readers – so get it today and make storytime a game!

The Cape Cod Times has run a story about my writing workshop for children.  I had a great first week with the kids and I can’t wait to go back!  Check out the article by clicking on the image above!

CHC

This event was a whole lot of fun!  I never attended the Cranberry Celebration before and I was completely surprised and amazed at how big and fantastic it was!  There were tons of events and fun activities for the children – including BIG RYAN’S TALL TALES of course!

THE 1st CROWD

Lex had a blast making sand art and going on the paddle boats between coming to both of my shows!  The best part was going to the bogs after and actually watching the workers harvest the cranberries.

There are a bunch more pics to be seen on my Facebook page – which you can find here – so check it out and become a fan!
