Even though Big Ryan’s Tall Tales still didn’t get mentioned, I have to forgive the Old Colony Memorial as they gave me this huge, adorable picture on page 2! 2003 was a year of firsts as this is the first time I have a picture of me doing my craft in the paper!

This also shares a photo of the early days when I used a large golden retriever pup named Max (which I still have). Max was retired as he doesn’t fit easily into a backpack. I will say that I did love using the puppet, which was a gift from my brother and sister-in-law, but being so big and clunky made him difficult to transport.

I will be in Sherborn this Saturday morning at 11:00am for an amazing show! Come get out of the cold and get your funny bone tickled with some amazing stories by Big Ryan!

I can’t believe I was just 24 when I decided to start this amazing journey! I still have clippings of the first ever mentions of Big Ryan in newspaper clippings from 2001 and 2002. I had been storytelling for just over a year when Big Ryan was first published in a paper.

As you can see, the first few mentions didn’t understand the full title “Big Ryan’s Tall Tales” but believe me, back then I was just happy to be mentioned at all! I figured being called “Big Ryan the Storyteller” was better than not being called anything.

I will be posting quite a few gems from the past throughout the year to celebrate 25 years of being Big Ryan’s Tall Tales – so keep coming back to check it out!

I will, once again, going to be at Book Love this Saturday morning at 10:00am! I am looking forward to seeing everyone there!

It always takes me a bit to get the new calendar up on the site, and I apologize for that, but it is now updated, and you can see what’s happening in 2025! I have quite a few emails coming in every day, and I am trying to respond to everyone as quickly as possible, but it’s exciting to be booking for the upcoming year and especially the summer!

Let’s start the new year off right! Big Ryan 2025 begins at Book Love in Plymouth tomorrow. The show begins at 10:00am Click on the adorable image above for more information. Don’t forget to check out this gorgeous bookstore even if you can’t make it to see me – but let’s honest, come and see me!

After the rain put a damper on the festivities last year, we are raring to go this year to bring the spirit back into the season! I know I can’t wait to join all these great events – including the adorable puppy parade – and get into the winter season at full steam!
