About to embark on another fun summer week! While I get to visit all of the Magical Beginnings this week, I am also able to squeeze in a few public shows! North Andover happens in the park in the middle of the town and I have been enjoying being able visit every year!

Unfortunately, it looks as though the Norwell Library Traveling Mystery Room will be re-scheduled for the autumn as we are having trouble gathering together a group of detectives!

I end the week at one of my favorite places; Book Love as well as heading to the Medfield library for an afternoon show!

Also, if you’re looking to schedule a show please call me at 508-641-5336.

What I take from this photo is that I have been doing this for such a long time! Notice the TV on the rolling cart on the left side? Yeah… I am THAT old! Max actually gets name dropped in this one AND the first time my BRTT hat shows up! I started making those hats early on and still wear some of those to this day!

Another beautiful summer week is about to begin and I am ready to see some old friends! This week is the first trip to the Cape this summer with Monday’s visit to Harwich and the Brooks Free Library. I get to visit this library every summer and I am so happy to be there so early this year! I am going for a re-visit to the Plymouth Yacht club during July 4th, which is amazing – but I end the week at one of my favorite places; Book Love!

And we’re off! Summer has began and I am ready to go! Starting with one of my favorite libraries, Holmes Public Library! A Monday night show to start the week off right, I then head to Hingham Library for a Wednesday morning show. I love starting the summer off with these two libraries and to boot I get to bring Pliant McTwist to the Walpole Library!

This summer has quite a few chances to come to one of the Traveling Mystery Rooms! So many opportunities to do either Plaint McTwist, Monster Mash or Alien Escape! This summer I am all over the place and I have listed below the specific games open to the public and who should sign up!

First up:

The Unfortunate Passing of Pliant McTwist: A Murder Mystery.

This game is perfect for teens – especially older teens – in this game you must earn all the evidence to find out who, what, where, why and when the murder occurred!

  • Walpole Library on June 25th @ 6:30pm – only 27 spots left!
  • Norwell Public Library on July 15th @ 5:00pm – 24 spots left!
  • Wareham Public Library on July 22nd @ 6:00pm – registration now open!
  • Attleboro Public Library on Jul 31st @ 6:00pm – registration opens soon!

The Monster Mash

This fun game has a lot at stake! Quite a few challenges are present to earn enough to buy your totem – this game is perfect for all ages, young kids love it but older kids enjoy it even more!

  • Carver Public Library on July 31st @ 11:00am – registration opens soon!

Alien Escape

This is the newest and most exciting Mystery Room! Definitely has something for every age! Make sure to bring your thinking cap and be ready to be the hero!

  • Sherborn Library on July 9th @ 6:00pm – registration now open!
  • Groton Public Library on July 10th @ 3:00pm – 17 spots left!
  • Townsend Library on July 25th @ 11:00am – registration opens soon!

  • Kingston Library on August 7th @ 2:00pm – registration opens soon!
  • Thayer Public Library on Aug 14th @ 6:00pm – registration opens soon!

I love the crowd shots. I love seeing when the parents are even laughing along. Those are my favorites! Another image featuring Max – the puppy I never really use anymore. It makes me feel like I should bring the bug guy out of retirement.

Sorry the image scanned crooked.

A lot of programs are getting ready to close and begin the summer sessions! I love being able to see the final days of school. It reminds me of the excitement that I felt when the latest school year ended and the new year was ahead.  In between was the glorious days of summer where there were no responsibilities to deal with! No homework, no test to study for – and these days, Big Ryan Shows to look forward to!

I have had quite a few people come up to tell me that they are/were my biggest fans or “Big Ryan groupies”. It is quite the honor to hear people express just how much my stories meant to their childhood. It will never get old hearing about the times I visited their school, their library or even their birthday!

These two guys are now grown adults and I see them on social media from time to time, but I performed at their birthday parties from ages 4-8 or 9 years old! It was awesome!

The children who came to the premiere of Alien Escape was a rousing success! Of the many comments we received we heard the room was “so much fun” and “a real challenge (in a good way)” I wanted to not just present a game but a real experience – and I feel like I delivered exactly what I was hoping to!

The kids that arrived loved all the different kinds of games and original experiences that this Mystery Room has to offer! I am excited to bring this game to many of the libraries this summer. If this game is any indication, we’re in for a great summer!
