I am so happy to show off the teams that arrived to help solve the case of The Unfortunate Passing of Pliant McTwist: A Murder Mystery! Even my daughter, Alexandra was on hand to help the detectives!

These skilled detectives went to work beating each of the suspects at their own games! They were constantly impressive and wonderfully enthusiastic in sifting through the evidence!

In the end, this Father/Daughter Trio finished first and earned their badges!

But no one leaves empty handed! Each player earned their badges as well, and took a victory photo!

The welcome that I received today was so surprising and amazing I’m STILL thinking about how sweet and wonderful it was! First of, the  welcome sign and balloon towers were above and beyond already. Then to receive a goody bag of water, popcorn and mints? Man, you treat your guests like royalty! Thank you so much!

Each of the groups were fantastic as well! The K-2nd grade kiddos heard George and the Loose Tooth and Abiyoyo with a quick intermission of The Button Factory. Then the 3rd and 4th grade came in to hear Cupcakes and Timmy.

I think I have mentioned in the past, but I truly do love telling Timmy to the older elementary school kids. The story always engrosses them in a way that leaves them absolutely silent in the end, expecting more, absorbing what they just heard. It always makes me so happy when the children begin to get dismissed from the room and they can’t stop asking questions about the story!

I still think about this email I received from a woman who still remembered the story over 10 years later:

Well, again, thank you to Clifford Marshall for the invite and the pictures. If you want to see more or want to see The Button Factory in action head over to my Facebook page!

The Flint Library hosted The Unfortunate Passing of Pliant McTwist: A Murder Mystery! The children who arrived certainly came to play! Fierce competition as the kids “interrogated” the suspects and played faced the challenges that awaited them!

Each group did such an amazing job completing the games, including the physical challenges of yoga poses!

Ultimately, it was these two young players who finished sifting through the evidence and pointed out the real culprit! Congratulations to these young men for earning their badges!

And a huge thank you to the other teams for finishing us solve the case!

I am looking forward to this event happening at the Carver Library starting the last week of February. Make sure to scan the QR code and register now! Can’t wait to see everyone there!

Sometimes I get small surprises when visiting some of my favorite places! Like this painted rock greeting me at the Truro Library last week!

And, for the record, it did make me feel like I was okay!

If you’re looking for something to do this vacation week – something AMAZING! – then you’ll want to make your way to one of the shows that I will be presenting during February vacation week! You have not one but TWO chances to come to Book Love in Plymouth to have a blast and enjoy a beautiful bookstore at the same time!

  • Tuesday: TRAVELING MYSTERY ROOM – Flint Library, Middleton, MA @ 11:00am
  • Wednesday: Hull Family Network @ 10:00am

Not a lot of traveling this week, but sometimes that’s really nice. Plus, I get to visit the Plymouth Early Childhood Center – a school I actually worked at when it was located on Mt. Pleasant St in Plymouth. It was the third school I was employed at after the Discovery Center and then working at the Head Start program in Plymouth. I still get to see a few of the people I worked with some twenty years ago. As the saying goes, You can never go home again” but let me tell you, it feels fantastic to visit!
