What a wonderful and amazing event!  What I really liked was seeing all of the characters walking around – straight from the pages of some of our favorite literature!  Paddington was there, Stelleluna was hanging around, Curious George was there and even some of the Wild Things were having a rumpus!  It was a great time!  II even had a couple of the patrons tell me after that I was the “best part” of the event – which is a huge compliment seeing as my competition was the very talented children’s librarian staff and the characters mentioned above!  And yes, if you look at the picture above you can see my daughter and son (sitting together) in the front row.

this week

I had a blast this weekend at not only the Storybook Breakfast (pics to follow tomorrow on here – or already posted on my FB page!) where I was able to shake the hands of Curious George, Stelleluna, Paddington Bear, and Carol from Where the Wild Things Are.  Then, on Sunday I took my daughter to Maple Sunday at the Science Center in Norwell, and after we went sledding.  My daughter is enjoying the outdoors more and more!  Dream come true!

Since the first week of Preschool Building Stories in Kingston had a snafu – we are starting the first week round again this week!  So, come on out and enjoy yourself as we explore telling stories in a new and fun way!  Pembroke Library had a great turnout and we enter the second week there.  Let’s keep our fingers crossed for great weather!

this week

March?  It doesn’t look like March!  We need a lot of sunny days in order to clean things up for the first day of Spring in just a few weeks!  Besides that, I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.  My visit to Sherborn was a huge success and the crowd there was fantastic!  I will be doing a bit of traveling once again this week – this time to Winchester on Tuesday.  I really enjoy going to the Winchester Library as I have noticed a couple of return audience members.  I love it when I start to see familiar faces!

We are starting up the newest round of Preschool Building Stories at both the Kingston and Pembroke Libraries!  Hingham was a huge and fantastic success with many families joining us each week – hopefully we’ll end with even more people joining the fun in Kingston and Pembroke.  Let’s cross our fingers for great weather!

Yes, this is the kind of kid I was.

this week

I get to entertain at my daughter’s school this week – one of the major perks of being a storyteller is that you can visit your child’s school and make the kids laugh – and then, by default, you’ve made your kid even cooler than she already is!  I am also heading to Sherborn this week.  While this is quite the ride, I really don’t mind the traveling, as long as it’s not in the deep snow!

We are wrapping up the latest round of Preschool Building Stories at the Hingham Library!  We had quite the turnout for vacation week – which was awesome – and hopefully we’ll end with even more people joining the fun.  Hopefully we will have only really nice days this week – so join us for the fantastic finale!

Here is this week’s schedule:

  • Wednesday: Carver Elementary School – Kindergarten @ 9:30am
  • Wednesday: Final Week of Preschool Building Stories at the Hingham Library at 3:30pm – This week: Wordless Picture Books!
  • Wednesday: Teacher Training at 6:30pm for CNK: The Perfect Circle
  • Thursday: Sherborn Library @ 3:30pm
  • Friday: West End Day Nursery @9:30/10:00am

A shot from this past summer when I had a corn on the cob that was having an inner struggle to be orderly or just let it’s freak flag fly!

I have been out shoveling snow so much I haven’t had a chance to post a new cartoon – I hope you enjoy this one created when my wife was pregnant with my son!

this week

I know this snow is really messing with people’s schedules – I know it’s made my schedule a constant headache.  No worries though, if we have an event booked and you are open I will make it!  If you need to reschedule, I can do that too!  I am as flexible as possible and really try to work everyone in – so don’t worry about a thing!

That said, the latest round of Preschool Building Stories began last week at the Hingham Library and we had a great turnout!  We have room for a few more so if you’d like to join us this week – please don’t hesitate!  Also, Wednesday is supposed to be one of the only really nice days this week – so come out while you can!

Here is this week’s schedule:

  • Wednesday: Early Bird Academy at 10:00am
  • Wednesday: Second Week of Preschool Building Stories at the Hingham Library at 3:30pm – This week: Playing with Puppets!
